Derby Factories were established in Aleppo in 1979 by the late Adel Afash and the late Hussein Omar Kaadan, with Afash obtaining the franchise rights from General Mills for producing chips. Following their passing, the company was renamed under the leadership of Mrs. Wahida Afash and Mrs. Lina Kaadan and their partners. What many don’t know is that “Derby” held the number one industrial record in Syria and later became part of the Kaadan Industrial Group. The first factory outside Syria was opened in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan – Amman under the name “Al Adel Company for Food Industries” in 2011. Additionally, a second factory was inaugurated in Turkey under the name “De Castle Company for Derby Chips Production” in 2015.
